상징조형물“점지(點指)”
선열의 묘역이 모셔져 있는 효창근린공원의 환경적 분위기를 손상시키지 않으면서 성역의 현대적인 해석이 가능하도록 계획한 조형물이다. 구체적이며 실질적이기 보다는 개념적이며 추상적인 형상으로, 단순하면서 기념비적인 형상이 구현되도록 하였다. 또한 관람자의 입장에서 각자의 새로운 해석을 통하여 상징성의 전달을 극대화 하고 있다.

조형물의 수직적인 구조는 선열들의 정기가 이곳에 깃들어 있다는 성스러운 장소임을 의미하고 하늘과 땅이 만나는 곳임을 상징하며, 사각형의 투명한 유리 구조체는 신비와 성스러운 공간의 방으로 선열들의 얼이 우리 후손에게 투명하게 열려져 전달되는 장소임을 의미한다.

즉, 작품의 조형적 의미인“점지(點指)”는 우리의 정기, 뿌리와 같은 의미를 지니며, 생명의 근원을 이루는 땅의 내부(땅과 연결되는 수면의 홀)로 귀결되며 소통한다.

The sacred environmental atmosphere of Hyochang Park's ancestral burial grounds has been given a contemporary significance with the placement of a sculptural form. The form has been planned to be concrete, conceptual and abstract rather than being real. It is simple and monumental.

The form is open for wide symbolic interpretations, as each viewer will perceive it differently. The perpendicular structure of the form signifies the meeting point of heaven and earth whilst also emphasizing the sacredness of the grounds - a place where the ancestral spirit is nested.

The transparent square form is made to be a sacred and esoteric space for our descendants to feel the spirit of our ancestors.

"CHUMJI" is our spirit that signifies our root. It communicates as the origins of our inner soul (a place where silence connects to earth).
